Couple of days off were good. Got 6 recommendations finished--I hope admissions people read these things, because I put a bunch of time into them (probably too much).
Kids are fine. A little bored but we're getting pretty creative--cooking, painting, and things like that. (also known as "the good stuff")
we lost internet and cable for a day...I realized how much I am addicted to the web

Regarding the recommendations you wrote, a colleague and I were having a conversation about how much time we put into them and we hope they are read. I can say that my daughter was accepted to Curry College on the spot for two reasons: her essay and the recommendation by one of her teachers. They actually called her during the process to tell her she was accepted and to expect a letter in the mail. Interesting, I was blown away. Her dad passed away just before her senior year and she wrote briefly about the incident but mostly her estranged relationship with him and how she knew it would all make her stronger some day, more focused on the the positive. Anyway, I guess my too long story was to let you know that apparently they do read them : )
